Commercial Use

To operate commercially in Australia (varies by country) appropriate certification from CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) is required.

There are two different certifications;

  • 1. Operator Certificate
  • 2. Controller Certficate

The Operator Certificate allows you to basically work for yourself. This is the higher grade of the two certifications, and requires not only a helicopter/fixed wing Private Pilot License (PPL exam), but also a radio license and Operations Manual. Aerobot is currently working on a standard Operations Manual which can be adjusted to your specific operations, due for release early December 2011.

The Controller Certificate is the more basic of the two, and only requires the pilot to pass a helicopter/fixed wing PPL exam and radio license. This certification permits the controller to work under someone holding an Operator's Certificate.

Required for both of these certifications is Manufacturer Training. Aerobot is aligned with CASA to ensure "safe skies for all" and offer Manufacturer Training Courses with the purchase of Ready to Fly Units.

Required by HiSystems GmBH (Mikrokopter) is also a commercial license to use their platforms for hire or reward. This license comes at a cost of $1,500EU and is available through HiSystems GmBH directly. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
