"I first contacted Aerobot about a year ago to purchase my first hexacopter. With their advice, I practiced with their mini quadrocopter which was a great learning tool for me having no experience with RC Helicopter platforms.
After a few weeks, I took the plunge and bought the DroidWorx standard lift hexacopter to use with my GoPro HD Hero.
I visited the Aerobot headquarters in Byron Bay when my hexa was ready to pick up. It was a great experience. We talked about the machine and how the components work, functions, operations etc. It really was a lot easier than I had imagined.
After running though the basics and some flight theory, do's/don'ts etc, we ended up going for a fly with their training quadrocopter, and with Simon's instructions and easy guidance, I was hovering confidently after about 10 mins. We practiced a few basic manouevers for a couple of hours and it was time to head back to the headquarters for a conclusive run-down.
All in all, I was really happy to find such experienced, friendly and professional people to work with. Nothing was a problem, Simon and Flick were very accomodating and their enthusiasm for their work is to be admired. I have to mention, my hexa is awesome and I love it! I have been flying my for over 7 months now, and have been achieving some great results with it.
